After your manuscript is fully edited and proofread, it’s time to turn it into a book. Your interior designer will begin by creating design elements that represent your book’s genre and tone. You will receive test pages to make sure you love the design before the next step.

After you’ve approved the design, the interior designer will typeset your manuscript in InDesign, line by line, making sure it looks perfect on the page.

Along with your print book’s pages, your designer will create a reflowable ebook that looks beautiful on any device. The content of the ebook will adjust to differently sized phones and e-readers, in portrait and landscape orientations.

Note that complex interior layout projects require a higher rate.

Do I Need Interior Layout?

If you are publishing independently (self-publishing), you will need interior layout. If you are publishing traditionally, you do not need this service. Your manuscript should be completely finalized before beginning interior layout; once typesetting begins, it is much more difficult to make even small changes to the text.
